Boarding takes place directly on the sand at Pântano do Sul beach onto wooden vessels; the calm shoreline makes a pier unnecessary. Main boats carry up to 20 passengers and depart roughly every 45 minutes toward Lagoinha do Leste, bypassing the 2.3km trail from Pântano do Sul or the 4km trail from Matadeiro.

Along the way, you can view the rocky cliffs of Pântano do Sul, local sea caves, and the Rigueirão freshwater spring cascading down coastal rocks. You may also spot Moleques do Sul and Três Irmãs Islands. Upon arrival, an inflatable dinghy transfers passengers safely onto the sand at Lagoinha do Leste.

Lagoinha do Leste lies isolated in southeastern Santa Catarina Island, inaccessible by road. This isolation helped preserve one of Florianópolis's last remaining native Atlantic Forest areas, protected as a Municipal Park since 1992 across 453 hectares.

Because it is a protected nature park, there are no public restrooms on the beach; full facilities (parking, restrooms, showers, restaurants) are located back at Pântano do Sul.

At Morro da Coroa overlooking the beach, pointed rock formations create a distinct summit view alongside Toca da Baleia cave. Offshore views include Moleques do Sul and Três Irmãs Islands, with occasional marine wildlife sightings. To reach Morro da Coroa, visitors can hike up the steep trail on the far right corner of Lagoinha do Leste beach.

Boarding at Pântano do Sul — Step directly aboard from the shoreline. Departures run roughly every 45 minutes depending on passenger flow and sea conditions. In low season (August to November), departures are confirmed with a minimum of 5 passengers; inquire for smaller groups.

Sea Crossing — The outbound trip takes about 30 minutes, skimming past Pântano do Sul cliffs, sea caves, freshwater springs, and offshore islands. Life jackets are provided to all passengers, and experienced boat captains oversee the voyage.

Beach Time and Return — Arrival requires a brief dinghy transfer to shore; the return process works identically in reverse. On the beach, enjoy flexible stay time within operational hours (last return boat departs at 4:00 PM). Cell reception is minimal to non-existent. During peak summer (December to April), small kiosks sell snacks and drinks (cash recommended). Bring coolers, beach gear, and trash bags to pack out whatever you bring in.
