The Sambaqui Schooner Tour takes you across the waters of Florianópolis' North Bay and Governador Celso Ramos, combining sailing, history, nature and beautiful scenery. Boarding takes place at Praia das Flores in Sambaqui, one of Florianópolis' most traditional neighborhoods, approximately 14 km from the city center.
Soon after departure, passengers can enjoy different views of the North Bay. The route passes Ponta do Sambaqui, the Federal University of Santa Catarina's Marine Mollusk Laboratory and its oyster farm, as well as the Carijós Ecological Station area, an important conservation area protecting the Ratones and Saco Grande mangroves.
After approximately 40 minutes of sailing, the first stop is Santo Antônio de Ratones Fortress, on Ratones Grande Island. Built in the 18th century, the fortress was part of the defensive system designed by Brigadier José da Silva Paes. The visit is accompanied by a Tour Guide.
When sea conditions allow, the tour also includes a swimming stop in a protected area. Navigation then continues through the Anhatomirim Environmental Protection Area toward Praia da Costeira in Governador Celso Ramos, where there may be a stop for lunch.
The final stop is Santa Cruz de Anhatomirim Fortress, one of the region's most important historical landmarks, known for its architecture, size and significance in the history of Santa Catarina.
Throughout the tour, the experience combines North Bay scenery, protected natural areas, traditional communities and two important historical fortresses.
Boarding in Sambaqui: The experience begins at Praia das Flores in Sambaqui. Restrooms and Wi-Fi are available at the departure point.
Sailing through the North Bay: Along the way, the schooner passes Ponta do Sambaqui, the UFSC Marine Mollusk Laboratory and its oyster farm, and the Carijós Ecological Station area. The Hercílio Luz Bridge can also be seen in the distance.
Santo Antônio de Ratones Fortress: After approximately 40 minutes of sailing, passengers disembark on Ratones Grande Island to visit the fortress accompanied by a Tour Guide.
Swimming stop: When sea conditions allow, a stop is made in a protected area for swimming.
Praia da Costeira: The route continues to Governador Celso Ramos, stopping at Praia da Costeira with the possibility of having lunch. Meals are not included.
Santa Cruz de Anhatomirim Fortress: The final stop is one of the region's best-known historical fortresses, where visitors can discover its architecture and importance to the history of Santa Catarina.

The activity depends on suitable navigation conditions. The tour may be cancelled in situations such as very strong southerly winds or rough seas when safe navigation is not possible.
The schooner has a covered area, allowing the tour to operate under certain weather conditions. Passenger safety is always the priority when deciding whether the tour can depart.
If the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions that prevent safe navigation, customers may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund.
